Had read a bit about this market and thought it would be one worth going to see.
Well, it is a good market but it is just a market, nothing special other than it’s always on a Monday.
We got there about 10:30 am and there was no sign of livestock auctions or anything else than normal market selling. Needless to say, it was well organised (parking attendants) and spaciously laid out so it was easy to look at everything by simple navigation. As described it is chiefly a Trash & Treasure market and not a bad one at that, with a good showing of locally grown veggies (backyard production sized ) as well as general fruit and vegs vendors. A number of clothing and footware stalls. Plenty of new & used tools on offer. One live poultry stand. I don’t think there was a single art or craft stall anywhere, it just isn’t that kind of market. Probably close to 100 stalls, as they say. Also only one hot food vendor as forecast .
Since they hold every Monday it must be very successful, it was certainly interesting and entertaining. We give it 5 stars for that.
