Review:
Wallan is a BIG market. To our mind it is a blend of metropolitan and country market content.
It winds about all over the place so it can be a bit daunting to the newcomers to know just where to start.. We suggest on the SW corner, then work your way up to the west corner, which is a lane way then go back down a row away and so on. Eventually you will get to see it all, but allow 2 or 3 hours if you are a slow browser.
The stalls are a mix of everything, quite a lot of long term operators down to Mum just selling off the kids’ clothes and toys. For the later you should head east towards some large industrial sheds and in the gully before them you’ll find the “car boot” sale vendors, and the bargains.
There are plenty of hot food and drinks stalls and some excellent fresh fruit and vegie vendors.
Parking seems to be in neighbouring streets, but not difficult to find as shoppers are coming and going all the time.
It’s great market to visit on the way to somewhere else.
We’ll visit it annually.
