Review:
Great little town with a cute market - market quite small with lots of cooked food stall but not really that much to purchase and not a lot of produce.

Revisited.. March 9th 2014 (Labour Day long weekend)

As predicted this market has grown to about 40 stalls, and room for more. Clearly the organisers have definite market content in mind as duplications are rare yet diversity is self-evident. Being the long weekend and glorious autumn weather by chance, there were people galore, and pleasingly, lots of kids, particularly littlies (as you can see in the photo gallery). Maldon was packed with visitors and everyone leaving seemed to be carrying purchases, good for everyone indeed.

Being only 20 mins from our home we will come over regularly, not just because it's only 20 mins pleasant driving but simply the market was a very satisfying experience. It’s definitely one to put in your book when next up this way. Well done Maldon!

This market was started Nov 2013 and despite it’s “early days” had both a gratifying turn out of stalls along with a huge inflow of visitors. Parking was a matter of finding somewhere, but only a pleasant stroll at worst. We found good shade up near the Beehive Chimney on the Bendigo Road.

The venue is partially out on a closed off side street that is adjacent to the nearby park with was well populated under all the shade it offered.

Being a first market there wasn’t a lot of duplication of stall content but a wide enough range to give the impression that this will be of ongoing growth and general popularity. It is basically a Farmers/Art/Craft market but as always there is more.

Being a half hour drive to Bendigo or Castlemaine it is easy to fill in the day or, longer. Maldon itself is a historical precinct with enough to fill and hour or two in.

Worth watching..
