Local produce, local talent, local event in the Dandenong Ranges.

Started by a group of locals who love markets!  And didn’t want to have to travel too far to go to one.  So they thought they’d start their own in Upwey.

Markets are great because you get to meet the person behind the product.  Markets are usually fun, interactive, lively and a good alternative to shopping centres.

They are also a good way for communities to grow and develop, and for new, young, sometimes raw talent to get a start with the product they are passionate about.

There were 70 stalls at the first market on Sat 20 November, 2010.  The stalls ranged from crochet to potatoes!  There was live music, sunshine and a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.

In 2011 the group will hold a series of test markets to see if there is enough interest to support a more regular market.  So be sure to get along and support this great initiative.
