Berwick Farmers & Craft Market ALL NEW LOOK – BERWICK FARMERS & CRAFT MARKET
Luckily, Berwick and Casey now has a place for residents to buy fresh, farm-grown products, a variety of other locally produced products, and quality craft items from local vendors at our market location – the historical Old Cheese Factory at 34 Homestead Rd in Berwick.
We originated as the Casey Berwick Farmers Market back in January 1997, as a community project run by the Rotary Club of Berwick, and we have traded on the 4th Saturday of every month ever since. Our customers have always sought local, farm fresh products each month by way of the Market, but have been asking for more variety and the addition of some craft to make it a one stop Market for all their needs.
Hence, commencing on Saturday 27 February, between the hours of 8.00am and 12.30pm, we will deliver just that - the new look Berwick Farmers & Craft Market. This of course will still be run by the Rotary Club of Berwick as a Community Event where proceeds of the Market are delivered back into Rotary’s local, national and international projects such as:
Carols by Candlelight ROMAC (Rotary Overseas Medical Aid for Children) Life Education Halmahera Hospital Project Indonesia Australia Day Community Event Youth Exchange Program Positive Mental Health Forum Tonga Farming Project Presentation Balls St John of God Hospital
We will also be supporting other local charities, such as the Upper Beaconsfield Men’s Shed, who will have their first opportunity at our next market, on Saturday 27 February to raise funds via the Community BBQ Marquee. This new Farmers & Craft Market allows a multitude of opportunities for vendors to sell their fresh products and for locals to be introduced to a whole new world of shopping. Our vendors provide a multitude of specialty products, such as honey, breads, wines, cheese, eggs, meats, and fresh fruit and vegetables. And now, exceptional handmade quality craft and service to match. Do try to catch up with our Roving Chef, Sjaak, who will be a regular feature at our Market with tastings, stall holder product information and some exciting recipes. Why not bring the family along - children are most welcome and this month we have an Animal Nursery, where you can enter and touch a large number of friendly farm animals. At our March Market, the Easter Bunny will be hopping along with some Easter Eggs for the children. So keep the 26th March free for this egg-citing event. In fact, every month we will be having a different event, with the April market hosting the BIGGEST MORNING TEA. We will be launching our new website at the end of the month www.berwickfarmerscraftmarket.com.au Here you will be able to keep up to date with what is happening at the market, subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on Facebook, but best of all, connect with our stallholders via our link to be able to order additional produce, goods or craft items. So what are you waiting for – of course, Saturday 27 February at 8am when the Berwick Farmers & Craft Market gates will open at the Old Cheese Factory at 34 Homestead Rd Berwick (Mel Map 131 A2). There is abundant FREE parking. Just follow the signs!
